How it all began

My wife Rachelle and I used to buy plant-based deli slices in grocery stores, but we were dismayed about the plastic waste and food processing.

So, we started making our own… and we tinkered with the recipe until we liked them better than the store-bought options. I started sharing the slices with friends, many of whom eat meat, but were looking for more plant-based protein options, and they said, “I would buy this!” … and that planted the seed for Might Deli Slices.

Meanwhile, my students expressed their concern about climate change and animal welfare, and I recognized that by making plant-based deli slices available to the community without the packaging waste of the grab-and-go options, our collective food choices could make an impact.
